On top of that, Facebook introduces some nifty features. For instance, when a friend or a follower joins a room, a user will receive notifications. During the launch, some public figures and certain groups will be able to host Live Rooms. The rooms can be started through the main Facebook IOS app. While only IOS users can host, Android users can still join in the rooms.
Clubhouse drew in early listeners by giving them auditory access to Silicon Valley hotshots. Facebook is taking a different approach. It is hoping to cast a broader net of influencers with Live Audio Rooms.
On launch, several public figures from different fields will have access to the feature. They will be hosting the first Live Audio Rooms. Among the named public figures are musicians TOKiMONSTA, D Smoke, and Kehlani. Media figures Joe Budden and DeRay Mckesson and athletes Russell Wilson and Omareloff are also included.
Since it is still new, the future of Live Audio rooms is still not clear. But, Facebook seems intent on keeping the space and investing in it.
